Detective officers attached to the State House have been
deployed in Lira district to take fresh investigation into the alleged
mismanagement of Northern Uganda Social Action Funds (NUSAF).
Lira district chief administrative officer Felix Rwabahuro told this to
leaders during a council meeting yesterday. He added that the State House has
taken over to carry on investigation of some district leaders suspected
of having used their offices to swindle with NUSAF money.
Rwabahuro was reacting to the council concern pinning his office of failing
to implement a council resolution to have the district leaders implicated
in the alleged NUSAF mismanagement.
The Nusaf specialist Martin Okumu based in Gulu says all the leaders who are implicated
in the mismanagements shall face the law. Okumu was on the live talk show on Lira based 96.1fm last night, where
he emphasised on the gross mismanagement of projects in some districts. NUSAF is a 5 year World Bank funded
program in the 28 districts in the north eastern part of Uganda.
