KITGUM – Residents of Lagoro Sub-County in Kitgum district have requested the government to beef up security in the area to protect them and their property against the Karamojong warriors who are becoming a threat to security in the region.

This follows an incident where a group of armed warriors reortedly attacked and robbed various homes in the Sub-Counties of Namukora, Lagoro and other surrounding villages. In Kitgum district they rustled a unspecified number of cattle.

Speaking to radio Palwak, Lagoro LC3 chairman, Mr. Ayella Martin said people in the Sub County and surrounding areas are now living in fear.  Some are threatening to return to camps where it’s safer.

Karamojong warriors over the weekend raided Pologa Sub-County, abducted two people and made off with over 59 heads of cattle and household properties.

By press time the Kitgum RDC, Alfred Omwony Ogaba, was not readily available for a comment on the developments.
