The idea of a fresh face in our politics is welcome. The tested leader he is ,Mao is certainly ready for the next stage.Ugandan politics, however,is militocentric,if I may coin out a new term.Uganda does not have a history of smooth transition at the top nd past electoral 'victories' of NRM and proclamations of the military leadership seems to point to a deeply entrenched distrust of anyother face in state house other than the founder of NRA.That said,Besigye in his acceptance speech hit a very iportant nail on its head.He said "Museveni is not going to gve away power willingly,we have to force him out." He may have not used those exact words but certainly he implied pressure was the only way available to the opposition.Divided,do they stand a chance? Can Mao go it alone with IPC and NRM s his rivals? When you look at these questions objectively, reality suddenly hits you that at grassroot level where structures for mobilisation are important,NRM and FDC already exist and quite well established in most parts of the country.Until Mao's emergence,DP was associated with Buganda. Now,even if he may begin to have a national presence, the main problem is going to be whether he can quickly have a strong constituency presence with a message so appealing to the rest of Uganda(more than 70%)not priviledged to be exposed to the electronic media. The daunting reality therefore is the need to use IPC as a vehicle for establishing a national presence at grass root level. With combined resources and clout,I think Mr Mao stands a good chance of taking the extra step he really need to before assuming presidency. On his own as a threat to Museveni on the ballot, the usual rigging will be applied and he may not have IPC come to back him when he is snubbing them now.Join IPC now like Odinga did against Moi,then compete later if not elected now to lead the IPC.It is a bitter pill but the only one to swallow.

Uganda at the moment requires people and leaders with fresh ideas, gone are the days when political patronage was used to maintain the status quo.
What Ugandans need is to improve and expand their productivity, not more districts.
I am very disappointed with the MPS who are talking about having more districts as a means of having better service delivery.
Uganda as an agriculturally dependent country must have more of agro processing to create more jobs and improve peoples livelihood.
With the creation of more districts expect service delivery protests in future amidst fights of who has taken which tender for the district.
Mr Mao am totally behind you because right from your university days at Makerere you have always stood out and pointed what is good for people.
You have shown you can not be compromised for personal benefits like others.
You could be one of those billionaires who serve their own interests but you want national development and democracy.
We shall always pray for you to liberate Uganda from corruption and patronage.
Viva ,amandla,laluta continua.
I am not a member of DP but I will support you because of your values.
Hopefully in 2011 many Ugandans in the diaspora should come home and vote for you.
Secondly I thank all the members Dp who voted you to that office, because I had always seen it as a party for Baganda and a platform for the current goverment.
History has always shown that members of DP can easily change the floor and hence making the opposition weak rendering the word Democracy useless.

Adungu Media!

It is a gracious moment that you have empowered us to speak on key political predicament.

Uganda's Politics is a dirty one. It needs to be cleaned in our own time, there is non other than Norbert Mao who can steer the country to mass cleansing and rejuvenation of the spirit of the 'Pearl of Africa.'
Dear all, Let us support Mao the heavenly sent messiah to lead us through this journey. We have got to unleash our full potentials and dominate every opportunity to emancipate the rigid communities that the ringing bell of change has come.
Mao should remember to have positive feelings for Uganda. He should not use Ugandans only for his glory but to cure the wounds on Uganda's face. He should be objective other than criticising evey thing. Most profoundly, he should make the motto of Uganda to show up with clear consideration of God's ways and the needs of our country.

The current status quo is a rough one. we have learnt from the past, we should never allow ourselves to be decided by the people who speak of no change. Yet we want change, development, proper representation and empowerment.

During this few days remaining, Gulu should be looking on and building more leaders to fill in the gaps.

I say this For God and My Country.

President Mao is the only one who can defeat Museveni and his NRM. The fellow have messed up Uganda and we need young men like Mao to correct the mess. I do think that Mao’s candidature will end the common talks of Museveni about the Obotes, Amin and the whole 1960 politics which we do not understand as the young generation. Mao, I now see Museveni’ exit. Be firm on your policies and avoid Besigye’s style of compaign which are full of blame. As someone who come from Gulu, I know Olara Otunu and Besigye will not have votes there. The Oculas and Reagan should back you much as they are in FDC. It is hard but that is politics. It is politics of merits and who have clear ideas to develop Uganda. Look at Uganda as one family. You are the only one who can save Museveni as well; because of your mixed background. The ”Mzee” has to leave the stage for the new generation. Uganda will develop with Mao I predict. I know how you corrected the mess Col. Ocora Walter created in Gulu. You have lived to your word by showing leadership to the people of Gulu. I take you leadership in Gulu as a pilot case for a bigger task of corrected the mess created by NRM.The education system is not the best now. There are many wrong things taking place. Imagine National Examination results being taken to State House before releasing them. Marks are adjusted to fit their needs and the politics of the day.It is a pity. You need to corect those. However, be careful with IPC. Their agenda may not be good.
Long live Mr. President.
I support you
