Vurra County voters regret loss of National Cake.

Voters in Vurra County are now crying foul after realising that they voted ‘unwisely’ in the recently concluded parliamentary elections. Vurra’s position in the NRM government fell on a hard rock after the voters decided to choose a Member of Parliament on independent ticket.

High Court dismisses Angualia’s election petition against Minister Onzima

The high court in Arua was today Friday 10th June filled with ululations after Justice Joseph Mulangira dismissed with costs an election petition filed by Mr. Angualia Laus Richard, challenging the election of Alex Onzima, the MP Maracha constituency and also minister of state for local government.

Child brutally killed in wild fire

President halts sale of land Soroti Flying School

President Yoweri Museveni has ordered an immediate stop to the sale land of the disputed East African Civil Aviation Academy (Formerly Soroti Flying School). The sale was under dispute between the Academy and the Uganda Land Commission, saying the Academy needs to expand to cater for the countries aviation plans.

Mao elected president DP

GULU district chairman Norbert Mao was elected president of the Democratic Party (DP) yesterday morning with 708 votes, more than
double his rival’s.
“Today is the turning point. No more running around in circles because we have chosen a direction for the party,” Mao said in his acceptance speech.
